Seminar looks at Good Participatory Practices in Research
CHEPA member Lisa Schwartz, Professor, Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact, and McMaster’s Arnold L. Johnson Chair in Health Care Ethics, will present “Good Participatory Practices in research: what does it mean for ethically sound research?” in a CHEPA seminar on Wednesday, March 20 at 12:30 pm.
The seminar will draw on the findings of a three-year research project conducted for the World Health Organization which produced toolkits and a handbook to support Good Participatory Practices for a global platform trial of vaccines, and supported local community engagement teams. Her team is now working on a “Lessons Learned” paper about how GPP can support better research, but also the barriers and obstacles encountered.
The seminar will be presented in person in room CRL-B119 and online. For a link to participate virtually, please email ramsay@mcmaster.ca
