CHEPA’s Hsien Seow honoured by Royal Society of Canada
CHEPA member Hsien Seow has been named to the Royal Society of Canada (RSC)’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, an honour which recognizes leaders in their fields who are helping build a better future for Canadians and citizens worldwide.
Members of the College are Canadians and permanent residents who are less than 15 years from the date of PhD or disciplinary equivalent and who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishment.
Seow is Professor of oncology at McMaster; the Canada Research Chair in Palliative Care and Health System Innovation, and Director of the ICES-McMaster site. He is an international leader in improving policy, education, and practice so that seriously ill patients receive high-quality and timely palliative care. He is also co-host, with Dr. Samantha Winemaker, of the acclaimed podcast The Waiting Room Revolution which educates and empowers people and families dealing with life-altering illnesses, and co-author of the accompanying book Hope for the Best, Plan for the Rest.
